This software allows your Windows computer to go online by connecting to your Windows Mobile Phone through the ActiveSync cable/dock, Bluetooth or InfraRed. If you own a Treo 700w/700wx, Treo 750, Motorola Q, PPC/XV 6700, Samsung I730/I830, T-Mobile MDA, Cingular 8125 or any other Windows Mobile phone with a data plan, PdaNet will make it your high speed wireless Internet Service for your laptop/desktop computer instantly - no extra hardware or setup necessary, no need to kill ActiveSync or perform any tricky hacking to your device whatsoever

As someone who manages whole metric scads of information in Google Reader, I was excited to see Byline, from Phantom Fish software, in the App Store.

Byline, as you might expect, fetches all your subscriptions from Google Reader and displays them for you to Read. It also keeps track of the items you've read and starred.

The greatest thing, though, especially for iPod touch owners and subway riders is this: Starring or Noting an item saves it on your iPhone or iPod for offline reading. If you star an item either using your desktop browser, Mobile Safari, or Byline itself, it saves it for later. Noting an item is even better, because you can save pages that aren't even in your RSS subscriptions for offline reading with Byline. They mention you can do this very easily with a bookmarklet.

Now -- I can hear you screaming: NetNewsWire does all this, and it's free! Without boring you with detail, it's worth ten bucks to me to keep my Google Reader workflow the way it is, rather than spending time changing the way I work. Agreed: it's probably too steep for people who aren't heavily invested in Google Reader already.

Additionally on the downside, Byline doesn't allow you to browse by tag, instead opting to lump everything together in one list by date. Phantom Fish says this is for performance reasons, as people with many feeds would experience sluggish behavior. They're looking into it, though, and I personally hope they figure it out.

Instructions:

Code: This assumes you have:

a) a jailbroken ipod touch / iphone running 1.1.x firmware (not 2.0)
b) an ftp client on your pc, and a server running on the ipod/iphone
c) an ssh client (ie putty) on your pc, and a server running on the ipod/iphone
d) enough space (20mb+) free on your apps partition - if not grab BossTool and run it

If you don't meet those requirements, get them sorted before proceeding. ftp server, ssh server and the

bosstool are available from the standard repos.


1. Download zodplayer
2. Extract folders to your desktop
3. Fire up your ftp client and connect to your ipod/iphone
4. Copy the folders across ( ./Applications/zodplay.app. and ./usr/lib/libzodttd_gcc_s.1.dylib )
5. Fire up your ssh client and connect to your ipod/iphone
6. Type: chmod -R 777 /Applications/zodplay.app [hit enter]
7. Type: chmod 777 /usr/lib/libzodttd_gcc_s.1.dylib
8. Copy some videos to /var/mobile if you're running firmware < 1.1.3, otherwise stick them in /root/Media/zodplay
9. Load up zodplay on your ipod

As a two-man team, you’ll alternate between controlling Brian Armstrong, the assault expert, and Shawn Rivers, the sniper. For instance, you might begin a mission as Brian and come under heavy fire or find a security gate that you can’t open, at which point, the game will automatically switch you to Shawn, so you can help Brian.

Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner is a slightly darker take on the collectible-creature formula made popular by the Pokémon games. But while the monsters are a bit more imposing and the characters are a bit less clothed, Jewel Summoner certainly isn’t mature in any sense. It’s a bland role-playing game wrapped around a compelling, if unoriginal, creature-collection system. The greatest shortcoming of Jewel Summoner isn’t its dull story, dearth of character, or lifeless world. Rather, the most nagging issue is the extremely slow progression of the game and a very poor action-to-dialogue ratio. If you can forgive those problems, you’ll find several hours of passable entertainment in Jewel Summoner.

Based on the 2007 live-action feature film, Transformers: The Game lets gamers control the outcome in the battle for Earth as they choose to protect it as Autobots or destroy it as Decepticons. Players experience the unstoppable power and massive scale of their favorite Robots in Disguise such as BumbleBee, Barricade and others. As the Transformers robot’s war comes to Earth, gamers make the choice to join the Autobots in protecting our planet or to join the Decepticons in destroying it. With dual campaigns, the fate of the world is in players’ hands. Instantly change from a larger than life robot to a high-powered vehicle such as a sports car, fighter jet or helicopter. Players crush, topple and wreck every object, including buildings and vehicles, in their path or use the objects as weapons.

The PSP version features 20 playable Autobots and Decepticons from both the live-action film and previous generations that battle through an enhanced version of the film’s storyline. Players can customize their character by choosing more than 10 different weapon types in both single and adhoc multiplayer gameplay.

Coded Arms: Contagion thrusts players into a new cybernetic crisis where they must use their hacking abilities and an arsenal of high-powered weaponry to survive. As a lone security agent players will return to A.I.D.A., a virtual reality military training program, to prevent cyber-terrorists from taking control of the program and gaining access to classified military information. The hackers believe that AIDA shouldn’t be restricted for only government use. The agent must use his abilities and combat skills to disinfect AIDA from the hacker-introduced virus so he can escape the system.

Across a variety of enclosed and open-air levels, players will take on original enemies with an all-new selection of firearms and explosives that lets them counter the terrorist menace with more firepower than ever before. Up to eight players can go head-to-head in the game’s new online multiplayer modes.
